Tumbled within the Midwest and the Rust Belt you’ll find places that are a little bit of both. Places where a short drive will take you from ubiquitous, withering towns to the homes of lost families and forgotten lands. You may think you know these places, but you don’t.
The stories here are not just of fields and factories. The stories here are unexpected. Odd. Imaginative. Engaging.
The stories here are about unique personalities and diverse backgrounds. Businesses founded and love lost. Unknowable motivations and unforeseen outcomes. Challenges. Passions.
This is The Midrust.
I have spent the last 50 years working, living, and writing in the Midrust. My day job has been helping brands tell stories through television, radio, video, print, and the endless facets of the digital realm. My spare time has been spent exploring the Midrust. I have chronicled over 1,000 of the stories for The Midrust Postcard Project.
The Midrust is the motivation and context for my novels and short stories. This area has such a story to tell. So much has never been said, and the stories continue to take shape. They will surprise you.
The stories here are not what you think.
